A new research group focusing on health and healthcare economics is being established at ECON MUNI. Jaroslav Groero, who joined the faculty in Spring of this year, is one of the people behind its creation. He will investigate, for example, how financial crises affect people's health.

At the online event Discover AHE, we will introduce the master’s programme Applied Health Economics, whose graduates will become experts in addressing such challenges. The programme is built on an interdisciplinary approach that connects economics with healthcare, pharmacy, and the social sciences.

Pierre Dubois: Pharmaceutical Regulation and Incentives for Innovation in an International Perspective (MUNI Seminar Series)

This lecture analyzes how pharmaceutical regulation and innovation incentives shape global R&D, access, and spillovers such as free riding, shortages, and parallel trade. It shows that international cooperation and new institutions are needed to align national policies with the global goal of sustaining pharmaceutical innovation.
