Jakub Hlávka - Advisor to the President of the Czech Republic for Health Care organized a round table on the topic "Shortage of doctors in the regions"

Jakub Hlávka, Director of the Institute for Health Economics, Policy, and Innovation at Masaryk University in Brno (HEPII), has served as an advisor to the President of the Czech Republic for Health Care since September. In this new role, he co-organized a roundtable discussion with President Petr Pavel and Eva Pavlová entitled "Primary Care Physician Shortage in Czech Regions," which focused on the challenges faced by primary care physicians in the Czech Republic.

New series links science and politics. The first policy report analyses the willingness to vaccinate against covid-19

People with primary education and people living in households with a net income of less than CZK 30 000 per month are less likely to be vaccinated against covid-19, according to an analysis of data from the Life in a Pandemic survey by researchers from the HEPII institute. Whether people trust experts and government institutions is key to their decision-making. According to the researchers, it is therefore important to build trust consistently.

Workshop on Pandemics – the first event of the Platform for Biomedical and Economic Research (IBER)

On Monday 20 May 2024, the first event of the Platform for Biomedical and Economic Research (IBER), of which we are members, took place. The workshop brought together experts in economics and sociology from various European institutions, including the European Institute of Economics. Masaryk University, Bocconi University, University of Southern Denmark, and University of Bristol, who presented papers on lockdowns and vaccinations. Masaryk University was represented by Lena Adamus.
