Can you tell us a little bit about how the final in Barcelona went?

On the first day, we got to know the other teams and took part in workshops such as Design Thinking focused on problems in the Spanish healthcare sector. Jana and Lukas attended a workshop on the application of AI in healthcare. Together, the three of us then attended a workshop on Entrepreneurial mindset.

What project did you come to Barcelona with?

We designed Onco, a comprehensive digital platform for people fighting cancer. This innovative app allows users to track their treatment progress, schedule medical appointments, view medical records and communicate with doctors, psychologists and other patients. Onco's goal is to provide users with comprehensive support and information throughout their treatment, simplifying their daily lives and creating an environment of connected community.

How did the grand finale turn out?

First place went to a team from Galway, Ireland, with their RecoverKnee project for the prediction and treatment of knee ligament injuries. They were amazing and we congratulate them once again. We didn't win, but we are happy with our performance. It was a valuable experience for us in every aspect.

What is your overall assessment of the event?

We consider the whole event a success. We gained new experience in project presentation and argumentation in front of a professional audience. We learned a lot of interesting things in the field of innovation management and health system at international level. And probably most appreciated, we made valuable contacts with experts and talented young people from around the world.

At the same time, we are grateful for the opportunity to represent Masaryk University at the international finals in Barcelona (following the I-Days event). And we are looking forward to future editions, where we would like to continue to present our innovations and participate in the development of inspiring projects.

Thank you for the interview and we wish you every success with your project in the future!
