Dr. Višňanský lectured on 12 March 2024 at the University of the Third Age of Masaryk University on the topic: Medicine safety - impact on health, state budget and wallet. You can also watch the full recording!

Annotation: Medicine, as a commodity of a specific nature, is a carrier of value in the sense of improving the quality of life. However, there are benefits as well as risks that we can measure. The use of medicines, if all aspects are observed (time, amount, method of administration, combination with food), can significantly improve health, whereas any failure in treatment can lead to a deterioration in quality of life. How do we calculate the value of a medicine? Can we even measure quality of life and what does it cost us? How much are we willing to pay for health and are innovations in treatment really beneficial and disruptive? What is the near future of diagnosis and treatment? These are not the only questions the lecture will answer.

Special lecture at the University of the Third Age MU - Medicine Safety (Martin Višňanský), 12 March 2024
