On September 18–19, 2025, the Faculty of Economics and Administration at Masaryk University hosted the inaugural bootcamp for students of the newly accredited master’s program Applied Health Economics (AHE). We are delighted to have welcomed the very first cohort of this interdisciplinary master’s program in Brno.
The bootcamp provided an opportunity for students to get to know each other and their instructors while also offering an introduction to the main areas they will be exploring during their studies – health economics, epidemiology, environmental health, and data analysis.
The program also included a visit to the Simulation Center of the Faculty of Medicine (SIMU), one of the most advanced facilities of its kind in Europe. SIMU provides students with realistic medical simulations and a unique environment for interdisciplinary training.
An important part of the bootcamp were also presentations by our partners Roche and Pharm-In, which opened the floor for discussions on internship opportunities, cooperation, and potential thesis topics.
The bootcamp successfully kicked off the AHE program, creating an excellent atmosphere and laying the groundwork for future collaboration between students, academics, and industry partners.
The first cohort of the program includes students from the Czech Republic, Slovakia, the United States, Myanmar, and Nigeria.
