In recent weeks, our researchers have taken part in two prestigious international events—presenting their work and strengthening their professional skills.
Tereza Parks spoke at the 5th ISA Forum of Sociology in Morocco, attended by over 5,000 experts from around the world. She presented the results of a systematic review of 26 studies on the daily palliative approach Namaste Care for people living with advanced dementia. The findings show improvements in patients' quality of life, reduced use of psychotropic medication, enhanced end-of-life care, and increased wellbeing of caregivers. The review was conducted within the In-Touch project and is currently under peer review with BMJ Open.
Hana Mlčochová and Tereza Škývarová, data analysts and PhD students focusing on health-related research, attended a summer school at the Barcelona School of Economics, which focused on the econometric method Difference in Differences for panel data. The intensive course was led by one of today’s most prominent econometricians, Professor Jeffrey M. Wooldridge. The knowledge and practical experience gained will be valuable for their work on the AGEING-CZ project and their doctoral studies. Their participation was supported by the AGEING-CZ project and a grant for student research projects.

Students in our master’s program in Applied Health Economics can receive scholarships from the Krsek Foundation, Jan Barta, Roche, and Nadácia Zrak. Their scholarship programs cover up to 75–80% of the tuition fee, opening the door to a career in health economics.
