Amsterdam: visiting classes

At the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam (VU Amsterdam), they attended, among others, a course taught by Judith Bosmans and Hana Maria Broulíková in the Health Sciences programme. The hands-on teaching format with the involvement of multiple faculty members allows students from different backgrounds to quickly develop skills in cost-effectiveness analysis, quality of life measurement and more. The visit was also attended by Jana Soukopová, who will teach applied methods of impact evaluation in healthcare in the AHE program.

Stockholm: discussion and exchange of experiences

In Stockholm at Karolinska Institutet, ECON MUNI representatives presented the new Applied Health Economics master’s programme which will open for admissions in December 2024. Programme Director Niklas Zethraeus then presented KI’s master's programme in Health Economics, Policy, and Management, one of the most selective ones in the world. Further discussions on the details of the two programmes, the possibilities for collaboration, and the practical experience of running a study programme and teaching practices in Sweden will form the basis for the innovative teaching format of the AHE programme at MUNI.
