Admission Criteria Overview

Admission to our master’s degree programmes is subject to specific conditions outlined by ECON MUNI. The Dean, with input from the Admission Committee, determines admission based on the evaluation of the following criteria:

1. English Language Proficiency
Demonstrate proficiency with recognized certificates at a B2 (or higher) CEFR level (TOEFL iBT 72+, IELTS 5.5+, TOEIC (R&L) 785+, B2 First exam (FCE), C1 Advanced Exam (CAE), C2 Proficiency (CPE), PTE Academic 59+, GRE/SAT mean 75th percentile or higher, or the SCIO English Language Test 80th percentile or higher) taken within the last 5 years. Exemptions for English-educated applicants (education at the undergraduate or higher level fully taught in English) are offered on a case-by-case basis – such requests must be made at least 60 days before the deadline. No other certificates are accepted.

2. Academic Readiness
Demonstrate your academic readiness by one of the recognized academic aptitude tests: GRE, GMAT, SAT, ACT, MCAT, LSAT or the Scio online GAP test taken within the last 5 years. No minimum score is required – please submit the best result available. No other certificates are accepted.

3. Previous Study Results
Submit your diploma and transcript to verify eligibility for our master’s programme. A previous degree at the bachelor’s or master’s level in any discipline is required. Your transcript should include the final Grade Point Average (GPA) if available. If the transcript is not in Czech or English, please submit both the original document and a certified translation of the diploma to English.

4. Curriculum Vitae
Please include a structured CV in English (3 pages or less). Please do not include your photo.

5. Cover Letter and Scholarship Statement
Please submit a mandatory cover letter in English to explain your motivation and how the program will advance your career, up to 2 pages single-spaced (font 11 or larger). You may indicate your preferred organization or type or organization for a 6-week internship (not required).
Scholarship Statement (optional): If you would like to be considered for a need-based partial tuition scholarship, please include a brief statement of your specific scholarship need (250 words or less) as part of your cover letter. Please know that scholarships cannot be guaranteed, and admission decisions do not take scholarship requests into consideration.

6. Optional Letters of Recommendation
You can attach up to 3 letters of recommendation. While these are not required, at least 1 letter is recommended.
